Review: Graydon The Serum

Graydon makes beautiful products. Beautiful, accessible products. Take The Serum for example - over 50 pounds of fresh, antioxidant-rich Canadian berries go into making it. Cold pressed blueberry, cranberry, and raspberry oils to be exact. Blueberry seed oil is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin E, and of course a wealth of antioxidant phytonutrients. They don't call blueberries a superfood for nothing. Raspberry seed oil is no slouch either. It contains Vitamin A, Vitamin E, fatty acids, and provides powerful UV protection (the equivalent of SPF 28-50). But my favorite of the group is cranberry seed oil. Cranberry seed oil contains a significant amount of Vitamin A and the perfect balance of Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. The high Vitamin A content in both raspberry and cranberry oils makes them particularly beneficial for acne prone skin types.

Given the extremely high antioxidant capacity found in berry oils, I like to apply this serum in the morning to provide extra protection against the sun's rays (yes, even in winter). I mix a few drops into my day cream and massage the lovely mixture into my skin. This serum is light-medium weight and absorbs very easily and quickly. In fact, I barely even notice it's there after applying it - the hallmark of a great serum.

Once again, Graydon has taken a simple few ingredients and turned them into something exquisite. It truly is the quality of oils that matters when making a great serum, not the quantity. And there is no serum that better demonstrates that than Graydon's.

  1. Urgh, Megan, how do you make every single product you review become my #1 lemming ALL THE TIME!? I have looked at this oil briefly a few times on Clementine Fields, but now I know I gotta have it! Thanks for the review and as always, the great detail you give on each oil and how they benefit the skin :)

  5. Hi Megan, this has absolutely nothing to do with this post but I was wondering if you could help me! I've been following your blog for awhile now and have absolutely loved everything you review! I'm coming to the end of the kari gran cleansing oil, and want to try another one, and was wondering what you would recommend for acne prone, oily skin? I love how the kari gran isn't too heavy, and was looking at the de mamiel cleansing balm. Which do you prefer? What's your favourite cleansing oil at the moment? Thanks a bunch!
