Argan for All!
I have recently rekindled my love affair with argan oil. Argan is the very first oil that I ever used and it is wholly responsible for my full blown obsession with face oils. Sadly, it was all too easy to quickly transition away from argan in favor of more exotic carrier oils. This is such a shame because argan oil is exquisite. It is a rich source of Vitamin E and perfect on its own or in a blend. Argan's light, nutty scent is never overpowering (warning - this comment about scent only applies to quality argan oil). Most importantly, argan's silky texture and ease of absorption make it perfect for all skin types. Here's proof:
For the red and inflamed -
Seventh Generation Soothing Skin Boost - This thick, ultra-rich blend is excellent for calming irritated, angry skin. It contains anti-inflammatory argan, as well as oat, gromwell root, and chamomile. Though viscous, this oil is rapidly absorbed. And it really brings down redness. But the most beautiful part of this oil is that it's budget-friendly and readily available. It's high time everyone experienced the wonders of oils!
For those besieged by spots -
Purelement Naturals Defend Argan Oil Moisturizer - Argan oil is the answer for acne. It's light, contains antibacterial properties, and the high Vitamin E content helps to heal scar tissue. And Purelement brings additional astringent, antifungal players to the party, including bergamot, lavender, and geranium. This oil is perfect for those that cringe at the thought of any type of oil coming into contact with their skin.
Yuli ME Skin Fuel - This is my absolute favorite luxury oil for acne prone skin. It combines three of the most effective oils for balancing skin - argan, indian fig, and black cumin - with powerful antioxidants from pomegranate and red raspberry. The scent is spicy and exotic, but never overwhelming. This velvety blend is potent perfection.
For youth seekers -
Kenza Pure Fusion Oil - This remarkable blend contains only two spectacular oils, argan and prickly pear. Wrinkles and dehydration are no match for these two nutrient-dense oils. This oil is perfect for purists looking for a little more oomph than argan alone can offer, but not willing to stray too far from the familiar. It is also wonderful for men because the scent is nutty, rather than sweet and flowery.
Olie Biologique Huile Moderne 004 - This oil is a game changer for mature and/or lackluster complexions. For the longest time I sought out complicated, overwhelming blends, never realizing that the most exquisite ones can sometimes be as simple as the precise mixture of two rich carrier oils and three exotic essential oils. Trust me when I tell you that you have never smelled anything as divine as the combination of bergamot, frankincense, and neroli. Truly mind blowing.
For Everyman -
Kahina Giving Beauty Argan Oil - This is my husband's favorite face oil. Though he is rarely willing to splurge on this, he fondly recalls this oil's exceptional quality and delicate scent. No other argan has ever come close to this one for him. And I'm not surprised - Kahina prides itself on selling only the "highest quality certified organic argan oil." Talk about an overachiever.
Lina Hanson Global Face Serum - This oil contains the best of everything from all over the world. With its light texture, antioxidant-rich ingredients, and otherworldly scent, this oil will satisfy even the pickiest of oil fanatics. More importantly, each oil in this blend tells the story of a different country with its own unique beauty traditions. A truly special oil that exudes craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Argan's many accolades might explain why my husband often remarks "this oil is good, but it's not argan."

Love this line-up! Thanks for all the work you put into your posts. I have been perusing your blog for a couple weeks and have learned so much. I just ordered La Bella's Tesoro Mediterranean Blend which is Argan based so I was thrilled to see your remarks on it as a healing oil. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow does the Kenzo compare to La Bella in terms of the prickly pear/barbary fig oil? I would love to try this oil, but am in a budget-conscious phase. Thx.
