The Look: Bright Lips

These days there is nothing I like more than a bright lip color. It's simple enough to apply and creates an entire look. Most importantly, it draws the eye away from any imperfections (real or imagined). I've found that the more intimidating a color looks in the package, the prettier it will look on. 

This statement provides the perfect segue into discussing my newest Kjaer Weis favorite - Romance. Described as a "vibrant reddish pink tone," at first glance this lovely lip tint looks bold! Scary even. But remember that this is a tint, i.e. sheerer than a lipstick. It deposits the perfect amount of color you crave, without overwhelming your entire look. (Just take a look at that swatch above. Beautiful!) I find that this gorgeous red-pink shade warms up my complexion and is subtle enough to wear every day.  Plus, Kjaer Weis lip tints are extremely moisturizing. They save you the hassle of applying a lip balm prior to your lip color. I love that!

Another bright lip color I'm loving right now is RMS Lip Shine in Sublime. I picked it up at Husk while in Toronto a few weeks ago. I'm obsessed with RMS Lip Shines in general. The texture and glossy finish are just phenomenal. I was a tad bit frightened by this "bright and modern fuchsia pink shade," but I decided to go for it anyway. (This was likely because Rose-Marie Swift was applying makeup at Husk that very day. When you see what Rose-Marie can do, you can't help but want all things RMS.) I have to say, Sublime is gorgeous. It's definitely pink and it's definitely vibrant, but in a delightful way. It makes me happy each time I apply it. Plus, like I said, the glossy finish is out of this world.
